Houston, TX - July 31, 2024 - Oomnee™, Unlocking Product-Market Fit in the Real World with AI-Powered Beverage Machines

Before building, Oomnee Inc. set out to validate, directly and locally, whether the market truly wanted what we envisioned: an AI-powered, health-focused beverage machine that could serve hundreds of variations of premium drinks in under 60 seconds, without human labor or retail footprint.
We chose a focused early outreach campaign in Houston, Texas, targeting:
Class-A multifamily properties
UFC-branded fitness centers
University campuses
The goal: to test demand, placement feasibility, consumer appetite, and unit economics before committing to engineering prototypes.

Site Profiles: Strategic Targets for Smart Beverage Technology Integration
Class-A Multifamily (Katy, Midtown, Galleria, The Heights)
Monthly rents: $1,700–$3,500
Resident profiles: young professionals, executives, remote workers
Existing amenities: 24/7 gyms, lounge space, dry cleaning lockers, pet spas
UFC Gym Locations (Sugarland, Houston Heights)
Daily foot traffic: 500–900
Membership tiers: $49–$149/month
Demographic: health-focused, supplement buyers, high repeat visits
Current offerings: vending (basic water/protein), small fridges, front desk shakes (limited hours)
University Campuses (University of Houston Downtown, Houston Christian University)
Survey conducted at the University of Houston
Student population: 47,000+
No current smart vending options for wellness beverages
Heavy foot traffic in rec centers, dorm lobbies, STEM buildings

Stakeholder Reactions: Strong Signals of Demand
Property Managers (Multifamily)
“Residents ask us for grab-and-go food and drinks constantly. We don’t want to operate a coffee shop. If this machine doesn’t need plumbing and fits against a wall, we’re in.” — Leasing Director, Midtown
“We could market this as a luxury amenity during tours and even upsell it for premium floor access.” - Community Manager, The Heights
Top Priorities:
Clean, minimal footprint
No service staff required
Low liability/ maintenance
Easy to refill or service
Perceived Value: Oomnee was viewed as a “non-amenity amenity,” which required zero staff and no tenant app training, and it still added high perceived value to prospective tenants.

Gym Managers & Front Desk Teams (UFC Gym)
“We make maybe $30–$40/day selling water and shakes, but it takes time. If this thing makes custom drinks and remembers orders, our members would use it every day.” - General Manager, UFC Gym Houston
“If this cuts down on us having to clean blender bottles and sell pre-workouts, I’m sold.” - Assistant Coach, UFC Gym Houston
Top Priorities:
Quick service for pre/post-workout drinks
Functional nutrition (BCAAs, protein, low-carb options)
Reliable cleaning and refill system
Sync with the member app for repeat orders
Perceived Value: Oomnee was considered an efficiency gain for staff and an upgrade for serious fitness members, especially during early morning and late-night hours when smoothie bars were closed.
Campus Feedback: Demand From Students
Through our University of Houston campus survey:
69% of students were very interested in an AI-powered, healthy beverage kiosk
85% said healthy drink access is important
54% felt there are not enough clean-label beverage options available
46% would consider subscribing to unlimited beverage access
Most Requested Drinks:
Smoothies
Collagen and protein drinks
Flavored water and low-sugar teas
Matcha and functional energy
Students overwhelmingly expressed interest in fast, clean, 24/7 beverage options, with strong alignment around personalization and convenience.

Product Validation Outcomes
Category | Metric | Result |
Manager Interest | # of sites open to pilot or placement | 12/15 properties canvassed |
Feature Appeal | Facial recognition, 60s prep time | 80%+ interest confirmed |
Space Fit | Machine size (39 sq. ft. footprint) | Considered ideal |
Hygiene Concern | Touchless, self-cleaning surfaces | “Critical” post-pandemic value |
Brand Fit | Modern design, digital UI | Aligns with premium audience |
Lessons Learned
Placement friction is low when the footprint is small: Oomnee’s lack of plumbing and staff means landlords are far more open to deployment.
Consumer demand exists, but requires visibility: Students, residents, and gym-goers won’t ask for something they’ve never seen, but when shown, the response is enthusiastic.
Operators are looking for passive income, not more to manage: Everyone wants to boost revenue, but no one wants the burden of staffing or maintaining a smoothie bar. Oomnee solves for that.
Functional wellness beverages have a wide and growing appeal: From protein to matcha to collagen, people now expect more from vending.
Next Step: Hardware to Pilot
With this early product-market validation in place, Oomnee is now:
Engineering the MVP prototype for pilot deployment
Identifying site-specific recipes based on demographic insight
Developing backend logistics to enable simple replenishment
Finalizing revenue-share structures with properties

Conclusion
Early feedback has confirmed what we believed: there is a clear gap between traditional vending and what modern consumers want. Whether it’s in a luxury apartment, a UFC training facility, or a college rec center, Oomnee fills that gap with automation, personalization, and wellness, all in 39 square feet.
This is just the beginning. We’ve validated the need. Now we’re building the future.
